Final Website Design

Here's the final website design, the main layout and outside of the content is still the same. Though the content is a lot different now with more coherent design throughout. I also changed the navigation bar so It has a lot cleaner look. Without any of the banner like stuff. The way scrolling down would would would have the main content scroll past while the rest of the page stays in place. The main content being the stuff on the central white background, the navigation bar would stay in place while content scrolls past. Because of how large the header is this would have to scroll down too, but stop when the top of the white box reaches the top of the page. This allows smooth and easy navigation around the site while maintaining a professional sleek look and feel.

Here's a mock up of the website for the clothing line. Because it's located in Australia but also international, focused in the USA and UK too, there are multiple sites to help with load times for people browsing on tablets and phones and also people with slower internet connections. You are first taken to the Australian website which has a front page where it asks you which sit you want to go to based on your location. You then click on one and then your taken to the main site, if your going straight through to the Aus site you'd receive the animation below, but if not it would just load through.

For the sight scaling with Tablets and phones, it would remove the side bars which are left there to pad the site for PC users, which would also remove the totems/skate boards at the top, which means it loses some aesthetic pleasure but retains functionality, the text at the top is fine to scale down to a small size while retaining readability.

Below is a screen grab of the process of creating the image above, using animation via layers. It also shows the main site.

Below is the front page where you choose what site to be directed to, It's plain, simple and supplies such a small amount of information that it's key to carry it across fast and without confusion, because of this I made sure the page was simple with lines leading into the centre where the logo/text is, and below the three buttons, which would be more obvious as buttons on the site because they would change when hovered over. There's a blacked out image in the background to keep it interesting and also give new visitors a quick taste of what they are going to see, clothing and skateboarding.

Bag Mock-up

This is the same design as before but on a bag, because I felt it would also work well because of the shape.

Hat Design Mock-up

I thought the text would look good on a hat, simple white, padded stitching, so I tried to make it look like this on a plain black hat I found. I think the design is simple and the text fits on the hat and works well with it.

Iphone Case Mock-up

Here's a design for an Iphone case, it has continuity with the rest of the designs with the same style and components, It is a wholly aboriginal, tribal theme, with a Tiki mask and crossed spears behind, in the vein of a skull and cross bones. It is all browns except for the feathers which are a small splash of vibrance to grab your attention.

Here's another clothing design, this is for a crewneck sweater, also able to be used for everything else. This is the simply the text I created for a logo variant. This is used to keep brand unity, as it ranges from use in clothing, to stationary.

Another design I did is crossed skateboards with a spear behind. This is a simple design and I wanted it to relate more heavily to skating as I felt the other designs were lacking in this aspect, so the crossed boards links that, and to keep the original brand Identity I've put a spear behind to keep with the tribal, aboriginal theme.

Here's another crewneck where the design is an alternate tiki mask, this one having a sketchedlook rather than illustrated.

T-Shirt Mock-up

Here's one of the clothing designs, on a T-Shirt, the design is an illustrated Tiki mask to keep to the aboriginal shamanistic theme. I tried to keep it simple and show it's a wooden mask, through the colours which are slightly exaggerated in saturation and vibrance but still resemble earthy, woody browns. The face was designed simply with flat colours and one use of a gradiant to show the cheek bones and to imply it's carved.

Wall Art Designs

Above is the final design for my wall art, with some experiments below, that I liked. My idea for the design was to keep the tiki, aboriginal theme, and create something looking abstract and minimal with a spacey feel to it. A lot of designs I saw that caught my attention the most used a style where the background was a pale colour not related to the focal, main art. The main art having a central position with maybe other components to it around, but still mainly focused in the centre. I decided to go with having a totem pole with some floral designs at the base for the aboriginal, feel and then overlayed a nebula stock over this for an abstract feel.

Above is some experimentation where I tried to make the totem even more abstract with some swirling patterns going into it. I created these via typing random letters into a script font, and moving them to the edge. I felt this detracted from the readability and the simplicity of the design.

With the last one, I tried to create an abstract vine/paint drip look below the text, but also felt this detracted from the minimalistic look I wanted to achieve, although it helped with the flow of the image, the simplicity was key to want I wanted the final piece to have.
